Derek Ezzell Joins Cabarrus Bank & Trust
As Senior Vice President and Relationship Manager
Thursday, November 19th 2009 - Concord, NC - Pat Horton, President and Chief Executive Officer of Cabarrus Bank & Trust, is pleased to announce that Derek U. Ezzell, a highly experienced commercial lender in the North Carolina region, joined Cabarrus Bank & Trust as Senior Vice President and Relationship Manager.
Mr. Ezzell began his financial services career in 1989 and has 20 years experience in commercial and retail lending, including a strong background in real estate development and construction, small business and agriculture lending and underwriting.
On Mr. Ezzell’s decision to join Cabarrus Bank & Trust, Ms. Horton commented, “Derek’s depth of experience, his proven dedication and commitment to the local community and belief in the community banking vision of this company will certainly complement our team of commercial lenders and help us continue to build strong relationships within our community. Mr. Ezzell received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration, Finance and Marketing, from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1989. Furthering his banking education, he completed the North Carolina School of Banking Advanced Banking program in Chapel Hill in 1995, the RMA Commercial Lending School at East Carolina University in 1998 and the Farm Credit Aglending School in 1991. He is a North Carolina licensed agent in Property and Casualty and Life and Health Insurance, and holds a North Carolina General Contractor - Residential Intermediate license.
A native of the Whiteville, North Carolina area, Derek and his wife, Sharon, and their children, Jack and Max, plan to make their home in the Cabarrus County area. He believes active participation in community and civic activities plays an important part in maintaining a positive image in the community, and plans to be actively involved in the Cabarrus community. On a personal level, enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf and basketball, weight training, camping, boating and snow skiing.
