Uwharrie Capital Corp Receives Prestigious Award
Wednesday, February 25th 2004 - Albemarle,
NC - The 2003 United Way Campaign, for Stanly County, recognized Uwharrie
Capital Corp as the company with the largest employee
contribution. "This was truly a TEAM effort which helped
United Way of Stanly County meet and exceed its goal",
said Susan Gibson, Uwharrie Capital Corp Human Resources
Director.
Uwharrie Capital Corp was awarded the Prestigious
Employees Leadership Award with an average donation of $267
and total employee donations of over $28,000.

United Way of Stanly County has been serving
Stanly County for over 39 years and is an independent, locally
operated nonprofit agency. Representing 19 local agencies
and collaboratives, United Way seeks to benefit all age groups,
raising funds for some of Stanly County's most critical health
and human service needs.

to enhance the well being of the counties we serve
and make a difference in our community.
