Susan Tucker Is Named Vice President

Tuesday, January 20th 2009 - Albemarle, NC - Roger Dick, President and Chief Executive Officer of Uwharrie Capital Corp is pleased to announce the recent promotion of Susan T. Tucker as Assistant Vice President.

Ms. Tucker began her banking career with Bank of Stanly over 21 years ago, serving in various capacities including customer service, account executive and branch leader, retail support and most recently in corporate-wide management of compliance and security.

On Susan's recent appointment to Assistant Vice President, Roger Dick, Uwharrie Capital Corp President and Chief Executive Officer commented, "Susan manages a vital and demanding role within our organization. Susan is a native of Anson County where she graduated from Anson Senior High School. She attended Stanly Community College, completing multiple courses in the American Institute of Banking (AIB) curriculum and has also participated in various educational programs and training courses through the North Carolina Bankers Association, specifically in the areas of Bank Secrecy Act and Bank Security. She and her husband, Dan, reside in the Endy community of Stanly County, with their two children, Kevin, age 15 and Rebecca, age 10. Susan is active in her church as Sunday school teacher, the children's fellowship group and she serves as finance committee chairperson.
